Never understood why Freaks and Geeks only lasted one season!

I recently saw Linda Cardellini in Scooby Doo and felt a little sad about Freaks and Geeks ending. It was awhile ago that it ended but still. If you have not seen it and went to high school in the 80's you have to watch it!! It was one of the best and most real tv shows ever made. Why did it last only one season? I dont know but I was a fan from the start — the writing was dead-on. Maybe the only thing that was not true-- well I'm pretty sure that in 1980 we weren't already saying "Hey" to each other as the standard greeting. I think the Olde Fashioned "Hi" was still in use quite universally in the average Home Town. I can overlook it though.
Most memorable quotes from the show-
" I heard my mom say to her girlfriend, "Any guy with feathered hair is *foxy*." --Bill

Sam: Uh, dad, can I have an Atari from my birthday?
Harold Weir: An a-what-i?
Jean Weir: That's one of those expensive video games, isn't it?
Sam Weir: No, no! It's not expensive!
Harold Weir: Oh, well, the welfare lines are full of those video game players.

If you have never seen an episode I am sorry but it is not too late

THE SKINNY ON FAT

Most people think that fat is what makes you fat, but really it is excess insulin production (caused by the overconsumption of sugar) that is mainly responsible for
adding fat to your frame. Additionally “fat free” foods are often higher in sugar than their full-fat counterparts, which leads of course to more insulin production and eventually more fat!
Fat is a critical part of your diet! Do not skimp on good fats. Eat polyunsaturated fat (heart smart) these don’t clog the arteries.
Fats help to
• Make food taste good
• Release a hormone to the brain called cholecystokinin which tells the body “I am full”
• Slow the entry rate of sugar into the bloodstream which gives you more long-term energy throughout the day.

These good fats include- fish, olive oil, nuts, seeds
Bad fats- chips, cake, any fried food.

My First Pull Up Ever!!!

"Reinventing the Body, Resurrecting the Soul" -Deepak Chopra

I honestly did not think I would ever be able to do a pull up when I started P90X.
I could barely get my toes off the ground! But half way through my 2nd round I decided to try it once without the chair and I did it!! Sure it's not the prettiest pull up in the world but at 42 yrs young I gotta say I am pretty excited. I am so glad I am making health and fitness a priority in my life. What is really interesting about this journey is that I not only feel stronger physically but mentally too, it is somewhat difficult to put into words but the interconnectedness between the body and mind is so real.
